Inspiration

​



Influenced by a risk taking, action sports living lifestyle, my style evolved from taking artistic risks. I came to a point where I was done painting what I saw. I had more to express. I searched internally for inspiration and began to experiment. After a year studying acrylic manipulation through abstract expressionism, I had found painting techniques I wanted to bring back to one of my old passions, landscapes, which is the current focus of my work.



My paintings are meant to evoke emotion, which I express through atmosphere, fluidity and balance. I enjoy a vivid color palette, influenced by my thrill seeking nature, which emphasizes the strong emotions within my work. Every piece is littered with symbolism, some of it visible, most of it hidden. I believe if the viewer connects with the painting, the hidden symbolism will influence what the viewer feels. Through my paintings I hope to inspire a curiosity that will drive the viewer to look beyond the surface and search for the deeper meaning...
